Why the change? We are shifting our focus to the 4C’s: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. But we know that simply renaming a space doesn’t change it. Supporting a new philosophy means the space needs to evolve into the place where teachers and students want to come for an invigorating learning experience. Although the LC is already promoting the 4C’s for teachers and students, updating the space will be a three-year process. This year is about assessing where we are at and setting up a steering committee. The LC Committee will be formed of a few committed individuals who are interested in advising on the best way to implement the physical and technological changes necessary. The second year will be the year of implementation, while the third year will focus on evaluation. Input from teachers, students, and the community is invited in order to create the most innovative Learning Commons imaginable as we strive to promote and support the efforts of our 21st Century teachers and students
