What is it?
ROMS Reading Challenge is your chance to get involved in a great reading program where reading, communicating, and creating combine to make a one-of-a-kind experience.
Read 3 out of the 13 books on the challenge list, join us for fun book chats, and participate in book-related contests, projects, and promotions.
When is it?
The book list will be announced on December 10. The challenge will run from December through May. The Royalbery Awards Celebration will be in June.
How do students get involved?
Sign-up online or in the Learning Commons with Mrs. Hill.
When are Book Club Meetings?
Book Club will meet every Friday from 3-3:30 beginning on January. Book Club meetings are optional, but the experience is highly suggested. A schedule for book chats and activities will be available soon.
What other activities and contests are offered?
Students will be challenged to create a diorama and/or a book trailer for one or more of the books they have read. Each diorama and book trailer created for a title will be put on display and available for view by the student population. Other projects and promotions will be announced throughout the coming months.
How do we celebrate our achievements?
Students who read 3 of the 13 books on the list, attend at least 2 book club meetings, and create at least one project relating to a book will be invited to attend the Royalbery Awards Ceremony that will be held in June.
